Three student cyclists were involved in serious crashes with cars over the weekend. In an email to Keble JCR and MCR about the incidents, students were warned about the risks of cycling at night, as well as the dangers of drinking alcohol before using a bike.
This comes in the wake of the National Cycling Charity CTC offering free cycle safety training lessons to Oxford Freshers, in a scheme backed by Oxford West and Abingdon MP Nicola Blackwood.
Holly Meehan, a cyclist from the college, commented: “In my experience I find that the roads around Keble are incredibly dangerous. Drivers are so struck by the sumptuous architecture that they come shudderingly to a halt.
