Women’s rugby naked calendar a hit

A naked charity calendar featuring the members of Oxford’s Women’s Rugby Football Club has proven popular.

The first batch of calendars sold out almost immediately, and a second batch has arrived this week. The calendar is raising money for Mind Your Head, OUSU’s mental health campaign.

The club has close ties with the campaign, and has players involved in the working group. The club also produced a video in 2012 to raise awareness of mental illness.

The calendar has attracted the attention of many major news outlets around the world, with the Daily Mail, New York Daily News and Huffington Post each publishing an article on the topic.

Stephanie Jackson, one of the players who participated in the calendar shoot, commented: “As a new player on the team (I started this term), making the calendar was a seriously good bit of team bonding!”

“I think the calendar was received so well since it’s obvious we feel comfortable, both in our own skins and with each other,” she added.

The calendar can be bought online, or at Walters in Oxford for £10 each.

£1 from every calendar sold will go towards the Mind Your Head campaign.
