Jack Hampton elected OUSU President for 2016-17

Jack Hampton has been elected the OUSU President for the 2016-17 academic year in this year’s elections. He was running on the BackJack slate, beating his rival Eden Tanner who was part of The Big Picture slate, and received 1389 votes.

The competition for Vice President (Access & Academic Affairs) was won by Eden Bailey of the IOU slate, beating Duncan Shepherd of BackJack. She received 875 votes in the final round.

Vice President (Welfare and Equal Opportunities) was contested for the first time in two years, with Sandy Downs of BackJack being elected, beating Jessy Parker Humphreys and Jenny Walker. She received 858 votes in the final round of voting.

The Vice Presidential positions for Charities & Communities, Women and Graduates were unopposed – the second year in a row for VP (Women) – with the roles going to Beth Currie, Orla White and Marina Lambrakis respectively. Orla ran on the IOU slate and Marina on The Big Picture. Beth received 1297 votes, Marina 394 and Orla 677 votes.
