We’re looking for our next Editors-in-Chief of The Oxford Student. Working for The OxStu is a fantastic way to gain experience in journalism, and even work with national newspapers.

Positions are held for one term, at the end of which candidates must re-apply either for their role or another. If a candidate is unsuccessful in attaining the position they apply for, they will be able to discuss alternative options with the current editors.

Editor-in-Chief – 2 positions

How to apply: email with your CV and a 500-word analysis of the paper’s strengths and weaknesses

Deadline: 23.59pm, Friday 1st June


Have the final say on what gets published

Recruit, train, manage and lead the rest of the team

Take control of the paper’s strategic direction, and manage its design, layout and tone

Represent the paper to Oxford SU, national newspapers, and many other bodies; respond to feedback from readers


We will be hiring editorial staff, news reporters, staff writers, sub-editors, photographers, filmmakers and cartoonists later on in term.
