Union launches ‘exclusive’ new club night The Oxford Union has announced its own ‘exclusive new social event’ to rival Bridge Thursdays. The former Purple Turtle has been refurbished to create a ‘chilled-out wine and gin bar’ and a club area ‘where a top London DJ, will be playing all the best chart music (sic)’.
Titled ‘Re-Union’, the event launches this Thursday, priced at £3 for non-members and free for members after 11.30pm. Re-Union will run every Thursday from 10pm until 3:30.
The cellar had once been home to popular club venue Purple Turtle but the managers were unable to negotiate a new lease in Michaelmas. The cellar now hosts Plush which was also forced to move from its site near the train station.
