Wadham college donates £1000 to help make Plush accessible

College News Local News News

Wadham College has donated to the Plush for All crowdfunding campaign, a fundraiser between Oxford SU LGBTQ+ campaign and Oxford University LGBTQ+ Society which aims to make the venue accessible for people with disabilities.

A motion was passed in Wadham SU to donate this sum of money to the campaign. Whilst the motion originally stated to donate just £150 to the campaign, it was raised during the meeting to donate the larger amount of £1000.

The fundraiser has so far raised over £2500 out of its £10,000 target, including the donation from Wadham College.

Commenting on this, Henna Khanom, co-chair of Oxford SU LGBTQ+ Campaign and a student at Wadham told The Oxford Student: “This is a huge win for the queer community of Oxford. Without such donations students may have to wait 1 to 2 years for a fully accessible Plush, and for many that can be the most of their degree.

“Wadham JCR has put its money where its mouth is by supporting disabled students.”
