Coronavirus cases at Lincoln and Hertford

Public Health England has confirmed that a second student at Oxford has tested positive for the novel virus, Covid-19 (Coronavirus). The student is a graduate at Hertford College.

An email sent out this afternoon by the Hertford Principal, Will Hutton, reads ‘(…) a Hertford graduate has been diagnosed positively for Covid-19.

‘They are now being medically supported. Those known to be in close contact are self-isolating following a call to 111. We are taking further precautionary measures as necessary and offering maximum support to all involved.’

Sources have revealed to The Oxford Student that the first case, which was announced 7th March, is a student from Lincoln College. The student is believed to be self-isolating in their shared house.


First Coronavirus Case Confirmed at Oxford University

Students are advised to self-isolate as soon as they suspect that they may be developing symptoms of the virus and to contact 111 for further instruction.
