The Oxford Student is looking for illustrators, photographers, graphic designers, and creatives of all kinds. This term, we are hoping to expand our search to include freelance artists and cartoonists. The OxStu will be introducing a new cartoon column where original student drawings will be showcased every week.
Illustrators are expected to produce graphics by request of editors. You should have a basic understanding of design software and a willingness to learn more. Strong free hand-drawing skills are desirable. Minimum commitment is one illustration every two weeks.
Photographers will work to capture and create images in and around Oxford for articles or general use of the paper. We expect photographers to have a working portfolio and be comfortable working with photoshop.
Graphic designers will work with the Creative Director and the Marketing Director to select fonts, design logos/products, and produce a final layout. Command of Indesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator is preferred.
Cartoonists may submit work every week and the final version will be selected by open voting.
