The Oxford Student can exclusively reveal the return of The Oxford Union beer garden.

President of the Oxford Union Chengkai Xie told the Oxford Student that they are excited to announce the return of the beer garden today. The beer garden was first introduced last year in Trinity as part of their adaptations to COVID guidelines and is being continued until the end of the month.

Xie has announced that: “To celebrate the return of the beer garden, we are doing a 100 pints giveaway. First 100 people to show up at the bar tonight from 7PM can get a free pint per person if you tell our bar staff which event you are most looking forward to this term.”

In addition to the beer garden in the courtyard, the Union bar has also reopened with new drinks on tap including a Camden Pale Ale and Camden Hells Lager. Prices for Members for Stella will be £3.50 (pint) and for Camden will be £4.25.

In a new move as part of an expanding bar, the Union has also announced that they will be introducing Oxford Union Ale soon as well as the return of hot food during lunch hours from 1st week (Sunday 10th October).

This weekend will also see the return of the highly successful Student Essentials Fair, hosted in the courtyard of the Oxford Union. With items including green plants, posters, bikes for sale to both students and members of public.
